Default Stroker 4**ci people, header questions

Right now I have the Hookers 1 3/4. The 427 should be going in hopefully this next month. If I wait awhile to get some 1 7/8's how much power would I be holding back? Also, what are different opinions on the big headers? I know FLP's are famous for banging and I don't buy SLP stuff. What about Thunders or Kooks? Doesn't Cartek have a race header? Any issues with them? Would a stepped header be worth any gains?

with your 427 i'd go with kooks 1 7/8 stainless steel headers.

I have actually been leaning toward Kooks, and almost ordered them from TT. But I would like to hear things about Thunders and Carteks before I make a final decision. Any bad issues with Kooks? Specifically, do they hang real low or bang the floorboard. If they don't then they probably would be the best bet.

didnt the thunders just come out not that long ago? there arent many people running them that i know of yet. havent heard much on the carteks either.

regarding the kooks i think you'd be hardpressed to fine anyone who doesnt like there, great fit, clearance, and finish. there just pricey

You can even go with Kooks 1 7/8" to 2" Stepped LT Headers in stainless steel. We have 2 sets of these on our project cars, they are an awesome header with a 3.5" weld-on collector. If you are putting the headers in with the motor they are cake. If you want to put the headers on with the motor in the car you may need to unbolt the driver's side motor mount. The 3.5" collectors fit, we can have a custom y-pipe made for you with the 3.5" reduction.
