Default exaust recomendations

i have a '98 t/a m6. i already have a slp loudmouth. i was wondering what headers, cutout (electric), cats, and y-pipe work best with one another? priorities being ofcourse performance and also fitment (i'll be doing it all myself) and price. really would like to stay under $1000. also should i get ceramic coated? how much does this improve my performance and duribitly? also in mind i'm planning on keeping this a bolt-on car, no spray or forced induction but am planning on a perty aggressive cam down the road when cash allows. thanks for all

LM is great on a stock setup but gets tricky when you want to add other mods in which you do. LM is notorious for drone and rasp when coupled with LT's and an ORY.

if it was my setup i'd go: LT's, carsound cats, 18" bullet, and then the LM.

a cutout and LM is pretty pointless seeing how loud mouth is just a straight through design with great flow already and its ****** loud.

as far as what long tubes to get do a search; if your on a budget you cant beat pacesetters. as far as Y pipe you can try a mufflex one, qtp one, or best yet go custom and have the cats welded in. not sure if theres enough room on the other Y's.

maybe you could sell the loudmouth, get a hooker catback, get a qtec, and the headers of your choice. Seems that the only thing most people agree on regarding headers is that the best headers are the grott design I.E Kooks, QTP, Thunder and that is is good to stay away from SLP. I personally went with the hookers and I like them alot. No fitment issues and they did not have too many bends and a decent collector.
I did have at one time the hooker/qtec combo like a mentioned above and it did kick ***.
Every time I opened that damn qtec I got oooohhhs and awwwwwsss.

If you are going to be using a cutout and/or staying with the loudmouth with long tubes, do yourself a favor and keep the cats, or get some high flow cats. I'm running MACs, ORY, and a Hooker Aero Chamber and it sounds great, but with the cutout open it's VERY raspy. Too raspy for me, as I never have the cutout open unless I KNOW I'm going to be racing. It is VERY loud, and I love the loud, but the rasp is terrible without cats

Go true duals with some Jet Hot headers.
