Worth it to port LS6 intake?
Throttle response through the entire rpm range went up drastically. Didn't lose any noticeable low end with my application (some people do, some people don't...depends on setup). Response felt better but the overall pull felt similar...until 4000rpm. From there on it was night/day difference both SOTP and how I pulled on friends' cars.
Conservative guess would be 0-5 under the curve, climb hard from 4k+ to around a 20-25rwhp peak gain over the ls1.
I'm not ******* the ls6 or the modified ls6. And compared to a new fast I agree 1000% they are better price/dollar, but the newer bigger "badder" intakes have driven down the cost of the 90-92s to a level they are decent buys for cammed cars or cars that intend to be cammed and not boosted.
I agree with you about boosted applications as well.
I was only telling him about the option of the TPIS intake instead of porting
which can do more damage than good. Thats the only reason i mentioned TPIS for the gains and low cost. Just trying to help
Personally I would spend the $30-40 on a Dremel. It's easy to do in less than an hour and you have the satisfaction of doing your own work to be proud of.
