Yes you do. There are only 2 bolts one at the top going into the dash area, and the other lower one down by the rack. The lower one is tuff to get loose. They should both have an 11mm head on them. Take your time don't strip the heads. Spray them down with pee oil let them soak. When you go back with them put some never seez and torque them down oh put some never seez on the shaft as well. DON"T Turn the steering wheel with the shaft disconnected. Lock it. The steering box has a flat side on it ,the shaft can only go on it 1 way.
For the headers the only way to go is with the ARP stainless studs and nuts. I put a little lock tight on the stud and screw it in the head. Then torque the nuts.

So This header swap is a total failure. I have the car on huge jackstands, the bottom of the car is above my waste, and I still can't get the passenger header in.
As for the driverside I beat I. The floor so much it's almost touching the gas petal and I still can't get them to fit. I don't know what else to do. Now i get to spend thanksgiving alone instead of going to visit m family. This was such a good choice I'm glad I did it!

those are the only two bolts I need to touch? I've had so
man different answers to every question I don't know which to listen to.
So just take off the two bolts in the engine bay and it will come out?

Take your time, its best to take a break, these should go in around 4-6 hours first time. You dont have someone up top to help. Its good to have someone handy getting them in form above. Somtimes you dont need to remove the steering shaft to get some headers in soemtimes you do. You said you want to go back in since your mount did not come in time, i recommend you wait to get em all in at the same time.

Ya that's the problem I can't wait. It's at my uncles house and I can't keep it there for more than a couple days. Plus with thanksgiving it'll be atleast another week and a half if not longer untill I get the new ones. I would have to wait for these to get back in and receive credit towards the new mounts.

All the headers I've used it was easier to remove the steering shaft, or at least slide it up. All my work has been done on jack stands and in my drive way. The stock bolts are fine till they round off. If you race cars then you will be tearing them down more often.

TSP 1 3/4. I had a buddy help from the top, I was underneath and we just had the car up fairly high on jackstands. it does take patience. passenger slid in without much hassle drivers side took a little more work. take a step back and look things over again after you have cooled off. Just look forward to how good the car will sounds once your done.

hey man, i just installed a set of TSP duals with dynomax bullets. I replaced my off road y and magnaflow catback. its so much better sound. and me being cammed, its not really that loud either. sounds very good. deep, muscle car sound.

the ground clearance was pretty nasty.. it does sit pretty low.

I finally put the headers in. Took a lot of sledge hammers, three to be exact. My gas pedal doesn't move to far. I'll have to fix that in the morning

Dude that **** is ridiculous! No way you shouldve had nearly that much trouble! Glad u got them in tho! Enjoy thanksgiving now...

Btw, if u had this much trouble with these, I'm not sure I'd look into tackling the motor mounts... Jmo.

Motor mounts are easy compared to this. It's only 4 bolt on the K and 4 on the engine an 1 in the middle. I had the car high as he'll in the air! I haven't seen anyone who says they've intalled these new headers. It's like your sayin it's my fault it didn't want to go in?lol I can't help if the floor board is in the way. What else shld I hve done smarty??
