v6 sputtering

v6 sputtering Ok, I have a 98 camaro with a 3.8, completely stock. I have a problem when i accelerate sometimes, it sputters really bad and my rpms jump up and down. It doesn't do this all the time but it does most of the time. When i idle it does fine, but occasionally the rpms jump up and down from like 900 rpms to 1100 rpms, and an occasional knock in the motor. Any help would be much appreciated.
subscribed. SES light / have you checked the Engine codes? most likely common problems, cheapest to expensive and somewhat easy to hard
something blocking or on the TB mesh screen filter,
Spark plugs, Air Temp Sensor, spark plug wires, idle sensor, ignition coil, ignition module, clogged fuel line / filter, knock sensor, MAF ,
I doubt it but and
o2 sensors, really bad clogged up catalyst converter
* bad fuel injector(s) / lots of carbon deposits, EGR valve clogged / carbon build up
DTC codes would really help if your light isn't on and it most happens at a stop / slowing down its likely to be spark related
check oil cap or stick to make sure its not gaskets.
*chemicals will burn this off but will coat spark plugs with black / orange / or red-ish color mineral deposits? but will weaken spark.

Well the sputtering happens when I'm accelerating, and my rpms jump at the same time...Especially when i'm in the 100 + range, but when i'm idling it will jump a little and occasionally hear a knock, I had a computer on it and it said it was my speed sensor, but my mechanic looked at it and said it was fine?
