The stock MAF is good for plenty of power. If you are making 500+ then maybe go with something else like the SLP MAF...otherwise leave it. More people have trouble tuning for larger MAF.

A gm 85mm maf is what I have. I have a Fast 92 intake and ftp 98mm air lid. The 85mm maf fits perfectly into the air lid and a 4" x 6" silicone coupler is a perfect fit for both the 85mm maf and fast 92 mouth. Don't let the mm size fool you. The outside diameter of the 85mm maf is right around 4". I got my maf off ebay for $30 shipped and the 5 to 3 wire adapter harness for about the same price off ebay.

The unported fast intake is good for about 12-15 HP over a LS6 intake a ported one will make 25-30...you do the math ..

I converted to a card style maf i needed to shift my range with the extra flow of the supercharger, for now your stock maf will work, and if you dont know how to tune it or have it tuned, stay stock.... a 3.5" to 4" coupler will hook a stock maf to a fast 90...

I like the card style mafs too. They're generally really big, so you know they won't be a restriction, but the ones I know of definately require a retune.

Whatever you decide to go with, leave the screen in (if it comes with one). The screen cleans up the signal at low rpm and makes for a cleaner tune.

BTW, I've got my FAST 90 and Nick Williams throttle body for sale, if you wanna take a look:

The card style mafs IATs are offset. They read about 8 degrees hotter
