Default muffler inserts

Here is an interesting idea i'm contemplating. Has anyone ever seen these header/sidepipe style inserts used in a street car exhaust to quiet down a catback? It looks like these would slide into the tips on my magnaflow catback nicely and maybe shut it up a little. any thoughts?

That tube is 3.5" in diameter, so unless they make a smaller version, I'm not sure it's going to work.

The tips on the magnaflow are 3.5". They also make a 3" version.

Those inserts are somewhat like the ones made by Bassani for their exhausts. I use a set in my Lightning's Bassani exhaust 3 1/2 tips and after seeing that they would fit in my Magnaflow tips on the SS, I picked up another set of the Bassani inserts for the SS - definitely quieted the car down a lot.

I actually got some baffled tips for my TSP Rumbler catback. Worked nicely.

thanks guys. Bird, do you remember how long the inserts are? Also, how did you secure them to the magnaflow tips?

The Bassani inserts are only about 8" long and mount in with a retaining screw from the underside - had to drill another 1/4" hole in the Magnaflow tip about 1" back from the existing hole.
