Hooker y-pipe and rust? I recently ordered some new Flowtech LT's (ceramic coated) from Ls1speed. I understand that Flowtech is a sister company of Hooker and from the appearance of the Flowtechs, they look to be the same in design as Hooker Lt's. I haven't ordered the y-pipe yet b/c i'm really not sure whether or not I wanna get a coated or uncoated y-pipe. Performance wise I don't think it will matter, but I'm somewhat concerned with appearance and rust issues. A buddy of mine just recently bought some Hooker LT's and ORY and hasn't experienced any problems. Now for my question. To anyone who owns the Hooker ORY, have you had any rusting problems with it? If so, do you think some high heat paint would prevent my uncoated flowtech ORY from rusting?
Also, I plan on removing all the AIR and EGR provisions during the install. Anyone think this is a bad idea? If so, please feel free to explain. I hear of people doing it all the time, including my buddy mentioned above. Hopefully these Flowtechs will instal just as easy as the
Hookers do.
