Ive been lurking on here for a while and am about to pull the trigger on a 5.3 for my Nova. I havent decided between the cast iron / aluminum blocks though... My goal is to hit 400 hp backed by a t-56 and have a fun weekend driver. So far my list seems like the typical start up list
ls6 intake, cam and springs
Can anyone help me with meeting my goal and doing this on a reasonable budget....
lifters?
upgrading the oil pump/ timing chain?

definately get an aluminum L33 if at all possible. Yeah its more money, but it has 243 heads, high compression, good valve springs, and is LIGHT! Honestly LS6 intake, headers and a good tune you would be pushing 320-340whp through a t56 or so. For a cam, a nice 220 or 224 at the most or so would put you in the 35-360whp area no problem and have a really good curve

Ive been looking around and have seen a lot of people switch over to the tbss intake... Is that so they dont have to change out the alternator and other accessory brackets to run the ls6 intake?
