LS1 Headers Which set of headers do you recomend for me to get for my 02 WS6.
Short hearders or long tube headers. I don`t want to get rid of the factory cats for now so take that in mind.
Is there any difference on long and short ?
Also painted or ceramic, how long does painted headers last ?

If you don't plan to take off the stock cats, stick with the stock manifolds. They work very well for what they are.
You will gain little to nothing going to a shorty using the stock cats.
When your ready to sacrifice the cats.. go for long tubes

You can get a set of high-flow cats for under $100. If price isn't a big factor for you, and you spend $500+ on a set of quality headers, spending the extra $100 for cats is well worth it if you want them. If you don't want cats, you will be spending almost that much for O2 sims (unless you can live with the code or have it tuned out).
Paint on the headers burns off immediately, exposing the bare metal. If they aren't exposed to water much, they can last a long time. Many people run ceramic coated headers, but there are many stories of the coating peeling off. The last option is stainless steel headers, which will never rust.
Before someone can give an honest opinion on what headers will be best for you, we need to know more about your goals for your car and your budget. Headers can range from $350 to $800+, so budget is very important. Also, why do you want to keep your stock cats?

your being counter productive; you want a more free flowing exhaust setup and yet you want to choke them off with the stock cats. eve with shorties i'd probably pick up a new Y w/ some high flow cats. and with LT's you need a new Y so using the stock cats doesnt make any sense.

Hey thanks, the reason I wanted to keep the cats is because the yellowish looking crap you get on the bumber plus the blackness too. If high flow cats don`t do that I`ll go for that.
The only thing i want to have on the car in the feature is NOS, for now i just want the headers but i don`t have to much money to waste on that so what would be the cheapest good set of headers? I`m running Flowmasters exhaust.
