Default Cat Conv.

Kind of an easy question, how much can I expect a shop to charge me to put on a catalytic converter? I was thinking somewhere around $75 or less? Is this unreal or am I somewhere in the ballpark.

$75 or less sounds in the ballpark.
Is this going on stock/shorty headers, or are you adding cats after LT headers ?
With stock manifolds it could cost the most(if studs break), Shorty headers about the same or less, and LT headers the least.

Including parts/labor, putting a new cat on my stock exhaust LT1 ran about $150. Apparently it was clogged pretty bad because it ran a lot better afterward. (I still traded in the next week though.)

Id say 100-150 for it installed from a exhaust shop. Funny, I always pay to have them removed though.

yeah, I've got my own, magnaflow hi-flow, heard its one of the only hi flows that don't throw a code on a v6, i know about the removal part, 1. no shops around here will do it 2. the one that does is $80/hr shop labor, 3. im trying to sell it so i don't want an SES code on. 3. ill take having that annoying light out over the 2-3 hp a cat will take away from me.
