question about mods on z28
Had headers and took them off, had nothing but problems with them as far as leaks, and rusting...I can't notice a differnece between the 02 factory manifolds which flow good compared to them honestly. So everyone agrees with a stall and some tires I will be there
From a roll he will probably still murder you. From a dig with you on drag radials with a stall it may be close if he is stock. Those new 5.0 will trap 111 -112 auto or stick and with a tune and cold air 114+ in good air. You need at least full bolt ons with stall and drag radials in a full weight car to make it close or you beat him if you got a really good running car. When I say full bolts I mean , lid, P&P throttle body, underdrive pulley, cold air, headers, off rd Y, exhaust, stall and tune at least to give you a chance.
Yes they do. Weather down here in Ms is not known for great track times and I know of several auto cars that ran 12.60- 12.80 stock @110+. With cold air and tune 12.40 -12.50 @112-114 full weight. There are several on the ford forums that have run deep 11's with full bolt ons, suspension, slight weight reduction ( spare, jack, race wheels) with trap speeds 116- 119. They are very impressive. That is why if you want to insure that you have a chance against one I highly recommend full bolt ons and camshaft or nitrous with good tires and gears if you have a 6speed. If you do tons of weight reduction then you could probably do it with just bolt ons and suspension and tires if you have a good running car with everything setup right.
