lt header help... tsp headers....

Default lt header help... tsp headers....

i have a 98 transam.. i bought a set of the texas speed 1 7/8th headers and i got there off road y pipe.. i got my old headers off.. got the passanger header on.. but the driver side wont fit. i called texas and they said change my motor mounts.. so i bought a set of the polys got them on and i got the header up in there and bolted on.. now my stearing shaft will not go on it is about a half inch away from going on... has any body had this problem.. help please...

i lifted the motor up to get the header in and had to take the steering shaft off to get it in there. but now i lowered the motor down and put the bolt back in the motor mount but the steering shaft is about half inch out its hitting the primary on the header.... what can i do to change this... what could be the problem.. help please my car is sitting in a buddys shop taking up the bay and i gotta get it moved thanks alot...

remove the pedastal again........removing the steering shaft is not necessary

it was on mine... i had the mount and everything out but when i let the motor down it/the primary sit down on the shaft.... so i took it off to get everything fitting right but now the shaft is baout half inch away from going on.... i would have to dent the header primary half inch to even get it to go on the rack.... but im not denting the headers.......

Yea mine wont sit like that. Mine hits in the middle of the shaft its no were near the nuckle.i will get a pic of mine.. Also were my rack is the part were the shaft slides on is like 3/8th of an inch from the mont you can see were my nuckle has hit it.

I will solve your problem!
You have the v6 f41 rack and pinion.
You need to swap to a fe2 which runs 250$.
And then your done....
Just look at your door codes and see which one is on there.

I have a rack from a 94ta will it work also have one from a 96z28

Well I bought a set of solid mounts and I also bought a brand new steering rack and pinion from gm. I put everything together last night and as I was letting the motor down it dropped fast and crushed my primary on the steering shaft.. With it being crushed and everything new it still dosnt fit.. I can not turn as it is hitting the shaft..

Whats next other than carrying my headers some were and having them move the primary tube.. I real dont wanna do that as these are new headers but tsp wont take them back since it crushed and scratch the header
