Y-Pipe Clearance

Y-Pipe Clearance Do those of you with 2.5" or 3" Y-Pipes have any ground clearance problems? My current Y scrapes more often than I'd like (the Y scrapes more often than the air dam, in fact), so I'd like to get it reworked, but I plan on keeping my cats.
Would I be OK switching to a 2.5" Y? I would imagine that two 2.5" pipes would provide more than adequate flow for the 3" I-Pipe.
More simply put, is it possible to have a 2.5" or 3" catted Y-Pipe with enough ground clearance to lower the car and not have to worry about scraping on every speed bump or moderate incline?

I've only got 3.25" ground clearance with my 2.5" Y-pipe on the driver's side (stock ride height). But the stock one was only 4.25" in the same spot.

The problem with that setup is the bolts that hook the pipes together hang down about 1/2". You most catch those bolts on everything you go over. Thats why I went with band clamps rather than three bolt flanges.
