Default Mufflex Off Road Y-Pipe

I am looking to replace my current Hooker Y-Pipe with the mufflex one that has a Flowmaster 3" to 4" Y collector. The price for the y-pipe and the 4" to 3" reducer shipped came out to $390. My question is if I were to buy the flowmaster merge and take it to a muffler shop to make a custom Y-Pipe, will it be cheaper than buying it from Mufflex?

I bought the collector for like 40$ and the reducer for like 17$.

Cost me 50$ from the shop for the rest...

Summit should have both. That price is retarded.

I know I can buy the y-pipe. I just want to know if it will be cheaper if I have a muffler shop make it.

Unless they use mandrel bends it is not worth it... There is an exhaust shop in bakersfield that has a mandrel bender in house, one of the few exhaust shops in the country that have their own mandrel bender.Or you could try to find a shop local that has a good reputation, hopefully you wont end up with some cobbled up piece of junk that flows less than a factory y pipe, but has a nice merge. The mufflex y is a nice piece, and it bolts in... just sayin sometimes we step over dollars to save pennies

would it be cheaper? That depends on your local shops but the advantages of going custom over the mufflex Y would be you could have your custom Y bent around suspension pieces and can keep it tucked up nice and good without hitting the floor board.

I had Speed Inc make me a custom Y with a flowmaster merge because of my UMI trans mounted Tq arm. When it was done it was cheaper then then the mufflex and offered more clearance.

You can pick up a flowmaster merge from Summit or jegs for $35-$55
