Default Random Misfire. Please Help.

When I start my car it runs fine, then once it gets to running temp it starts misfiring very badly, almost to where the car is undrivable. Then after about 5 minutes of misfiring it smooths out and there is almost no misfire at all. Then after a bit it will start again. I'm kinda leaning towards a bad coil pack but have no idea. Thanks for any help.

Check around your coils to see if anything is cracked or arching to the valve covers. What wires are you running?

I'd also like to know if you're getting any other Codes.

The Crank Postion Sensor would be a great candidate for the cause of your misfire. If you decide to pursue this direction, I would recommend spending the extra cash to get a GM CKPS from the dealership or from an Online source.

I replaced mine in my 99 Sonoma, fighting a misfire, with an Autozone Sensor (twice!) and it gave me a Crank Position Sensor Intermittent Signal Code. Installed a GM Sensor and it cleared up this code and most importantly the misfire.
