Default Thinking about putting a Single Cat in my I-Pipe

Well as of right not my exhaust consists of longtubes ory to a bullet then a 3" cutout followed by a magnaflow catback. I also have a cam so my exhaust is stinky and my car is a DD. I was thinking about just deleting the bullet and adding a Cat converter after the cutout for stink and health reasons, i know those fumes cant be good for me as if it isnt stinky enough in SoCal.

Anyone try this and what cat would you reccomend? I am trying to keep power but eliminate the stink as much as possible. Im debating like an obd2 magnaflow carsound and just a 3" highflow thunderbolt. Obvious the thunderbolt will flow better but probably wont cut down the stink like the carsound.
Thanks guys.

Obviously the closer the catalytic converter is to the motor the more effective it will be. I'm not sure how well it will work that far down the exhaust system but i'm sure it will at least help clean the fumes up a bit.

I know a few local guys that run Magnaflow high flows on various different cars and seem to be happy with them. They are also relatively inexpensive for a catalytic converter.

Thats a good point about them being cool that far down stream and might not do much. I think its fair to say that one highflow cat that far down stream would not do much. So i would either run dual highflows after the headers or one carsound obd2 in the i pipe i guess.

I'm running a Magnaflow cat on the passenger side od the Y, and
nothing on the other side (limited space) with 224/230 112 cam.
It smells a little rich, but not too bad ( except when cold of course).
I guess it's a 50% solution, but it's enough for me.

I 'm pretty sure it works by baking off the unburned fuel. Like said above, I don't think it will get hot enough?

Buy a set of Magnaflow, Spun-cats, #59959 3" in/out. They'll work a lot better right off the headers, plus you'll minimise exhaust restrictions running two cats, instead of one.

BTW, you can get these for around $95 each.
