Default 02 wiring polarity

i had to get my car back from someone and they let the o2 sensor extensions hang on the ground and rub apart. I have more than enough wire to splice them back together. they have 2 white 1 grey and 1 black. does the polarity on the 2 white matter or can i just connect them together any way. I'm getting horrible gas milage lol

Default

Gray = Ground
Black = Sensor Output
White = Heater (12V and ground)

Doesn't matter which white goes where to which white, it's just shorting that current across an element to produce the heat for the sensor.
