Default Hooker Header Y-Pipe Install?

Hello All,
I just got finished installing my Hooker Headers and didnt have much time left today to install the Hooker Y-pipe.What few minutes i fooled with it I could not get it to slide into the intermediate pipe.I still have the stock catback piping with a cut-out and Magnaflow muffler.I guess my question is will the Hooker ORP fit the "stock" intermediate pipe?Seems like it might fit but is very tight. If i have to drive to a muffler shop will it be alright to run open headers a few miles?Always heard this was a bad idea for the valves.
Thanks Guys & Gals

I use my factory catback and it fits the intermediate pipe you just have to shake it on its a tight fit. I dont know why it would be bad for the valves if you run with the y pipe on to the shop it will be REALLY loud but it should ok, I might be wrong about valves but thats what I think.

I'm getting ready to install my LT's sometime soon. If you don't mind me asking...how did you go about installing yours? Did you have access to a lift or how did you go about lifting the vehicle enough to have room to work? I'm trying to formulate some kind of plan, so that I'm not just blindly going into this. First things first...I think I'll probably remove my EGR and AIR provisions first, then get into removing the headers, but let me know how you went about your install.

Svingos129 I didnt use a lift but i could have and it would have a lot more helpful I put the car on ramps and slip them up from the bottom it wasnt that easy but it wasnt something anyone cant do it helps to unbolt the steering shaft to make the drivers side fit better.

Thanks Guys & Gals
My RT Y was very tight as well. I didn't think it was going to go in at first. I ground (grinded?) a 'softer' edge on both lips and greased up the Y. I worked it slowly back and forth and soon enough it was in. It turned out to be a very nice, tight fit.
