Default Porting an LS6 intake manifold

I searched here and on the web and came up with a couple of conflicting opinions. I hit a Mallet Performance link FAQ that said despite what others claim, you cannot port an LS6 intake manifold due to the fact it is plastic. Then, I happened upon an add for Lingenfelter Performance and part of an engine package they offer, specifically says the motor comes with a ported LS6 intake manifold. So, which is it? Has anyone here done it or had it performed on their manifold?

I do know that it is possible to port the ls6 runners. You can not go as crazy as you can with the Fast intakes though. The LS6 is all one piece. There was a company TPIS that went as far as cutting the snout of the LS6 and mounting a 90mm throttle body on it.

Thanks. Basically, I am thinking about doing a h/c using my or other 241 heads along with the LS6 manifold. I want to keep it looking as factory as I can so when someone opens up the hood, all they will see non-factory will be the headers. I was in communication with Advanced Induction concerning head/cam packages and they said they can really make the 241's work great.

You can still get the TPIS LS6 90, or send yours in for a conversion.

Things that make you go hmmm.
EDIT: I just read some very exiting info on this manifold. I may end up buying one and go the Q-ship route as suggested above.

Default Porting LS6 and FAST intake manifolds

Peak Speed Shop ports composite intake manifolds and we specialize in doing the LS2, LS3, LS7, L76 and FAST manifolds. We have the ability to port the LS6 manifold but get very few requests because not many have found gains from having the LS6 ported. We do show great gains from porting the FAST manifold (between 8 and 12 rwhp gain) and we have the ability to paint or powder coat the manifold.

We are running a porting special to LS1Tech members that ends on April 18th. Here is the thread, for those who are interested:
