Default Want it a little louder

I had the Flowmaster 80 series installed. I know the Flowmaster doesn't flow as well as most other systems, but I really do like the sound. I was wondering what else I could do to get more sound without using headers. Hi-flow cats, no cats, y-pipe... ?

True duals and bullets should make you smile

I've owned three f-bodies, all with headers and all without cats. It is necessary to put headers on and remove/gut the cats to get that deep sound. Just a muffler will give you that pansy sound that you only hear from behind the car. You could also get a cutout, so you can leave the stock exhaust manifolds and the cats and put the cutout right after the ypipe. I've got one and it sounds great, but drinks the gas, so I leave it closed except for when I go to the strip. Your only other option is to get a true dual setup, which would give you the best sound overall and most people would agree with me on that, but then again you would still need headers first for that setup. Don't be scared to modify your car, man. I'm new to this forum, but I've been modding cars for years and believe me once you start you will never want to stop. Have fun.

I'm not really afraid to modify, just not sure how far I want to take it. Like I said, the Flowmaster sounds pretty good, I just wanted to see if there was someting else I could do other than headers and true duels.

another vote for true duals = lounder & better sounding
off-road y-pipe = louder + rasp

Thats from personal experience, and you will read the same stuff on this board.
