ARGHHHH... How do i bend a header away from the block?
--got jet-hot headers installed about 1 year ago.
--got cam installed about 6 months ago.
--2 months ago knock sensor codes began showing on ses light (front and rear sensors)
And after looking at my jet-hot headers the driver side has one pipe that is awefully close to the block and I'm thinking that my cam shake might of wore down the motor mounts a tad and now it is hitting the block and throwing the codes. Does that sound likely???? I tried getting under there with a pry bar but i coudn't move the bar around enough to get any movement and same from the top side. Am I going to have to take the header off and grind the block or what? And i would be really pissed if that wasn't even the problem so what do you think guys, is this a common problem? Any help would be appreciated my car is slow as dog crap and i'm tired of it. thanks.
Also, the header is bolted pretty solid to the head so it should move with the engine. Look for it hitting something separate from the engine. Jet-Hots are known for hitting the K-member on the drivers side.
I was skeptical of the headers causing these codes as well but a friend told me that's what he thought they were and i fell for it. It's a noise i just can't figure out and it's really frustrating.
