5.3 Performance
5.3 Performance I just took my 5.3/t56 swapped Iroc to the dyno (dynojet machine) to get a baseline for hp and torque before I do a cam and intake swap, the car made 270 rwhp/311 ft/ lbs. of torque. It's currently a stock 5.3 from an 06 Z71 with an 01 LS1 intake and injectors, and I have stainless works longtube headers with 1-3/4" primaries and 3" collectors, and for exhaust I am running a 3" y-pipe going straight into a flowmaster 10 series race muffler dumped before the axle.
I plan on installing the #54-600-11 Comp Cams Thumpr cam ,UD pulley. 90mm throttle body and a FAST 90mm intake I just bought pretty soon. I'm wondering, should I replace the fuel injectors to larger ones? Will I see a noticable gain? what injectors would you recommend for a 5.3 with a FAST 90 intake and 90mm TB?

consider looking at a comp LSr cam.I feel a little better lobe .down load compcam quest and plug in different cams.54-408-11 and 54-455-11 will make more power the 54-600-11.get some 36# for room to grow down the road.

Thanks for the replies, I got the FAST 90 intake used dirt cheap$$ So i'm going to try it out on the 5.3, i'm hoping to run across a good deal on an LQ4/LQ9 and throw it in, then I can just take the 5.3 and stick it in the malibu. Just curious, what's wrong with the thumpr cam? I saw in a car craft article that the 5.3 made 96hp just from the thumpr cam and it had me sold!

that's fine for a stock truck motor or a stock everything ls1, but with that fast 90 + headers i would try to use a little more overall duration and lift. i would go with a TSP 220/220, 224r, or something along the lines of a 222/224 .581/.581 XER. you will get a nice torque curve and the hp will be nothing to laugh at either.
