Open headers
Open headers I am currently running open headers and have been for about three weeks. I need to run them this way for about 3 more weeks until I can finish the exhaust. Can this cause any engine problems or failures. Also currently I have not made any long drives, at the end of the three more weeks I need to drive about 2 hours on the highway to get home from school, besides cop problems will this create any problems? They are FLP headers.

Is it just the header and thats it? Or do you have any of the FLP pipes on it or the Y, too? If it is just the header, I would be a little worried about running them. When the O2 is so close to the ambient air, you won't get as good of a reading, meaning your computer will think it is lean and dump a lot more fuel in it. This can cause several problems, including fouling your plugs. To help it a little, you could bolt on your FLP offroad pipes so the O2 isn't so close to the outside air.
My car is sitting right now with about 12" of pipe hanging off each header until I can find a good exhaust shop. It runs OK, but I don't even like starting it because it is too damn loud and shakes the crap out of the car.
