Bought P&P TB and now I have problems

Default Bought P&P TB and now I have problems

1998 Z28 Camaro

I purchased the $100 P&P TB from the guy Tim on here when he was doing the sale. Before I bought it I had stock TB, car ran great and had no SES light. I bought Tim's, sent him my core and put his modded one on. Bump stop, ported, all the mods he does. Next day my light comes on p0507 air input, to high etc, complained about a lot on here. I contact Tim and he says he never had a problem with one of his TB's and to check my IAC, Vac Hose, and TPS. So I agree and do that. I replace all vac hoses, shut light off, it came back on. I replaced the IAC with a NEW delphi, light just pops back on, i replaced the TPS, reset light, and boom its back on. I have tried to contact Tim to see if he would send me a stock one back as I would pay shipping to see if it fixes it but he won't answer me, its been 3 weeks of me PM'n him and updating him and I get no response.

Do you guys think I am right that it has to be the P&P TB, could I have gotten a bad TB by chance? Maybe Tim got a bad core that he did and I got the **** end of the stick. I don't know what else to try besides putting a stock TB back on and seeing if it cures the problem but I don't wanna dump that kinda money as this stupid $100 mod has already cost me double since I bought new IAC and TPS. Help please.

on my z i put a P&P TB i had similar issues..
the problem was on the sensor that goes on the side of tb on the drivers side, it didnt have gasket, then i put a gasket on that the problem was gone..
you could try that..

it was 98 z28..
did you remove or unplugged the egr valve on the intake?

The O-Ring is there and everything is plugged in, its frustrating as hell going from car running great with no lights, you put a small mod on and it ends up costing you double and not being worth it.

I know how that can suck... anyway is your car idling any different or anything... or do u just have that code?

It is idling all over, mainly high causing banging when I put it into gear cause its reved up.

You need to locate that TB vacuum leak
Try spraying carb cleaner on different parts of the TB and see where its coming from

I had an issue with my E-Bay ported throttle body. Turns out the port work had opened up the area around the blade enough to let too much air in, causing a high and surging idle. I was able to fix mine by closing the hole in the blade and re-drilling it smaller.

You might have a similar issue.

I bought a P&P TB from him and it works great and definately picked the car up. I think you must have a vac leak somewhere. Good Luck
