Default Question about modifying water pump hard lines

I'm doing a swap that could benefit from alternate routing of the upper radiator hose and the heater lines. Has anyone replaced the steel lines with a threaded fitting or welded an aluminum fitting on the water pump housing?

What's the best way to remove these lines?

Here's one of the clearance issues I'm having:

The heater lines also have a clearance issue due to the route of my downpipe:

Thanks for any help,
D

i'll still have issues with the LSx pump. So there's no one out there who's modded the pump housing with fittings?

How so? Anything other than a truck pump will solve the "upper hose" issue. The heater outlets will be handled the same way regardless of the pump style.

I agree that the LS1 pump will fix the throttlebody clearance, but since it would still have clearance issues with the heater lines (just like the LM7 pump), I'll still need to modify the outlets. So buying another pump will mean I'll need to weld two fittings instead or three.

I'm going to pull the pump tomorrow and try to extract the lines, I just thought i'd see if anyone has gone with AN or barbed fittings.

BTW, this is not an F-body. I have limited routing of the downpipe (3.5") to go very close to the heater hose outlets.

check out what xtremedime did with his water pump, there is pics too. Just scroll down. Might help for your situation or give you ideas. Hope that helps. I would just cut down that massive piece that is hitting the throttle cable bracket as it doesnt need to be that long. A few inches will suffice for fitting a hose and clamp on there or like others said, get an fbody pump like in the pics below and you will then have zero issues at least with that main hose.

good luck!
