Default questions for a homeade CAI for a LQ9 engine.

So I have a 2004 Denali with the 6.0 liter engine and bought some 3in. ducting that will run from the TB to the fender should 3in.piping be sufficient enough or does it require larger ducting so there is no restrictions or problems. Any help is appreciated.
