Default 02 simms or delete code??

.
I'm rippin my cats off, and having the shop weld in a straight pipe in place of each of them.

Question:
If I just left my 2 rear o2 sensors in their existing holes, would it hamper performance or just throw a code?
If it just throws a code, is it deletable with LS1 edit when I get my car tuned, or no?

Lastly, is there any other way than those stupid O2 simms? I would assume the o2 simms are just basically a resistor that only allows a certain voltage to pass through the line to the computer .... could I just pick up a resistor from radio shack or something and pop that in the line?

I'm just having a hard time spending 100 dollars so my SES light (which is constantly on already), won't go on.

Not using o2 simms should not affect the performance of your car at all, just set a light. I am in the same boat as you. I have a hard time dropping that kind of $$$ into a temporary fix, when it could be better spent going towards a tune. And yes, you can delete the rear o2's with ls1 edit.

Edit is the only way to go. But maybe look on ebay for some used ones and when you get it tuned just have them delete the codes and resell the syms

O2 Simms or delete the codes... Just have the part that had the O2 bung removed also, or put a plug in it if you leave it in. O2 Simms usually go for $50 in the for sale section.

I had Texas Speed and Performance turn off my rear 02's and A.I.R. system with LS1 Edit for $100. I figured it was better off doing it that way then the 100 bucks for a temp fix with the simms.

Great, so I'll just take them out, unplug the 02 sensors, and just tie up the wires ... then next time I goto get a dynotune, I'll just have them delete the code.

Thanks guys.
