lt's and y pipe question

lt's and y pipe question Im going ot order a set of lt's tomorrow and im trying to decide if i should stick with a 3 inch y pipe or go and keep the 2.5 inch y pipe i have now (to save money and limit the sound a little) or do a 2.5 inch x pipe. can i put a 2.5 inch pipe to a set of flowtech headers? do i need a reducer or anything?

I believe you would be very happy with an x-pipe setup, may need to do some searches or make some calls to find out if your current y-pipe will fit the headers you are interested in.

even if they dont match up i can get collectors for free, i basically have free reign at my buddies shop to pick out the parts i need, he can even make me a y pipe to match (3 inch) if need be. but if i can use the existing stuff it just makes things easier on the pocket book than say if i had to purchase another 3 inch y pipe with cats on it. i know i would definately like the x pipe but im afraid of end cost even if he makes me one considering the complexity of getting the pip eover the axle at one point i could run into problems with it hanging to low i would think
