No what I installed is for filtering oil out of an air line. It's been on for a couple of days now and the bowl is just starting to get an oily color to it. Ya know all of these great designs that cost big bucks didn't just get invented for our cars. This tech. has been in place for a long long time. Yes if someone was willing to give me one of those $200 fancy, pretty cans that make my engine bay look nice i might put one in but............. like I said I'm cheap.

Curious what kind of mesh+filter all of you got/where I buy for mesh +filter?

OK so i installed a filter that I got from work (free) in-line to remove oil from the PCV line going into the intake. I have driven almost 3000 miles and have about 1 tablespoon of oil in the bowl. Now this confirms to me that you guy's losing a quart of oil in between oil changes have other issues. maybe you have bad rings (blow by) or leaky valve spring seals or plugged up oil returns. Now mind you this is not just my opinion but I have spoken with a few people that have many years in the business and they agree with me. This is just an FYI. I listened to what you guy's said and then did my own experiment to see if you were right.

Now if you want to Flame me you just go right ahead.

Smile cheap, effective air/oil sepperator/catch can

I made one using an $11 husky air/water separator I found at home depot. The drain didn't work, because it was designed to work under pressure, not vacuum so I sealed the bottom with a rubber grommet, and a counter sunk allen bolt. To drain it I just unscrew the collection jar and dump it in my used oil can. I made the bracket out of some metal laying around. whole thing cost less than $40 including hardware, and paint. If anyone is interested I will post the build, but it was really simple, and I think its a pretty clean install. The gunk in the jar is about a weeks accumulation.

That looks similar to what I have ..mine is for oil and on the bottom the piece is a screw type. I got mine from work so it was free and I think $2 for a piece of hose and a clamp. Here is a picture of mine. That's from almost 3000 miles.

Who are you asking? This thread is over 11 years old, and chances are slim for any poster here to still be around
