Default My first attempt at a Y-Pipe

Well, since I have a welder, I decided to make my first attempt at a y-pipe for my 98 camaro with Kooks long tubes. I still need to clean up around the welds some more, but I ran out of sanding disks.

I used 3" mild steel since it is cheaper and in case of mistakes. Not to mention I live in Texas so I do not have to worry to terribly much about corrosion. Also, I will paint it with high temp paint for added insurance for the time being. If and when I ever get around to it I will do Stainless Steel next time. I wanted to try and get rid of the 90 degree angle off the driver side, but it didn't work out on this one, I was running out of time. But I will try when/if I ever do a SS version.

Muffler is to be determine, but I have I couple laying around that I will try first. I plan on 4" cutout right off the merge collector and reduce it to 3" the rest of the way since those are the size of the mufflers I have.

Thank guys, I enjoyed fabricating the Y-pipe and look forward to doing the rest of the exhaust system.
