Default fuel rail removal question

So im planning on removing the fuel rail assembly in order to polish it. My GM maintance books say to replace the injector o-rings when reinstalling. Is this really necessary? Ijust never heard of anyone doing this to be honest.

^ It's not gonna hurt and you can prevent a possible leak. Fuel OR vacuum. O-rings aren't particularly expensive anyway.
