Default Grotyohann Headers hitting everything on install

I'm installing a used set on my buddies z28 for him and I'm having a lot of trouble getting the drivers side in. They were on a car before so i know they should fit. If I go from underneathe the headers hit the firewall k member lip and the outside of the oil pan all at once I just dont see a way on how to get them in. I have also removed the steering shaft with no luck. Has anyone ever dropped one in from the top I've got it about halfway in from the top but its hitting the valve cover I'm thinking if I take that off it might go but I just wanted some opinions here first. I installed my bbk's and my other friends kooks in a few hours with no problems these things just insist on giving me hell.

Take out the oil filter and drain plug. they go in from the bottom and you need to get the car as high off the ground as u can get.

I did all of the above lol I removed the oil filter, plug and stood the headers up. Overall these were the most stubborn set I have ever put in I ended up having to grind the k member lip not in the normal spot towards the rear of the car but instead the side directly to the left of the oil filter once I gound that lip completely down I got them to slide up with some force. ONce they were in they actually cleared good everywhere except on the passenger side where I did have to grind the k member in the normal spot right in front of the collector.
