Default Intake manifold problem

I just put on the weiand intake manifold on my 99 z28. Their is a weird problem when the maf is plugged in. The fuel trims go to +25 when we plug it in. If we unplug the maf, it won't add fuel and the car runs fine. Albeit a little high we think from an intake gasket leak. We have tried another maf and it still does it. Would the intake leak cause the maf to add fuel like that? What else could it be?

You mean like the Maf harness? I don't think so. I cleaned the second Maf and it seems to run a lot better I need to get it tuned but I think the second mad was just dirty.

I replaced the old ones with button head cap screws. That shouldn't be an issue.
