Default ls1 starter off ebay?

I am looking to get a new starter. I have shopped around at local auto part stores and the dealership and they are pretty high priced. I just looked on ebay and saw some new ones going for a decent price. Would you all trust a starter off of ebay or should I just drop the money on a local one?

I would take the local auto parts store warranty over ebay.

This is the one you want. It has the beefed up mount on the inboard side, unlike a factory replacement that just has that little tab. And I know from experience that when that little starter mount tab breaks, the other bolt will rip the mount off the "block".....then you're gonna have to get a welder to weld that block mount back on.....NOT easy.

You'll need to order this bolt from somewhere......85-1507 M10 x 1.50 x 113mm for the inboard mount. Then just reuse the longer bolt you already have.

The starter I bought included that longer bolt, from a place called "eagleparts" or something like that on ebay, but I can't find them on ebay right now.

Here's the starter with the beefed up inboard mount:

Basically this starter has the truck snout, I have had my version of this starter from Ebay on my LS6 for about 6 mo with no issues.

Just installed a T56 w/ aluminum bell housing on my 2000 Tahoe and cannot get my original truck starter to fit. Didn't know Fbody and truck versions have different snouts, but interchangeable? My truck starter snout looks too big for the bell housing opening.
