Default Got a problem guys!!

3 times over the last 2 days, my car has been stumbling and acting like it wants to cut off after start-up. After a few seconds (or a couple of revs) it runs fine. The only thing I could think of was a loose wire, since I did a plug and wire install 2 months ago. Seems if it was a loose plug wire though it would run bad all the time. I checked them anyways to find that they're all tight. Its probably worth mentioning that this happened a couple of times right after I bought the car new, but it went away (at least til now). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's not a loose wire. I can tell you that much. I had one pop off not long ago, and it will not stop having problems. Also, if a wire popped off, your check engine light would flash to indicate misfire (or nofire).

A malfunctioning Idle/Air Control sensor could possibly cause those symptoms. I had one go bad on my 98 Camaro and the car would start and then almost immediately stumble and cut off. Then when it would crank and stay running, it started idling at 3000rpms....at which point it finally threw an SES light. Just an idea for you to look into.

I also would check your iat and maf sensor connections. One of those might be loose.

Should be the sensor that is in your lid.

IAC sensor is located on the driver side of the throttle body near the top.

my friend had the same problem with his 98 z28 and it did not take us long to find out what the problem was, every time the car started is hesatated and shut off, the only way to on idle was to give gas few time when it started. So I messed with the IAC and the car shut off right away, so he replaced the IAC and never had that problem again

Here is a pic

It could also be as simple as a bad tank of gas. I had a rough night a couple years back where I had to heel-toe the car all the way home, to keep the engine from dying. The next morning, it started right up, but idled low. I went to the gas station and topped off the tank and the problems went away.

I really appreciate all your help and input, thats what make this site great! I'll keep an eye on the IAC, btw, how much does it cost to replace it (just in case I need to)??? The bad gas thing crossed my mind too, but I filled up at another gas station and it still happened.
