Quietest/best performing muffler to replace flowmaster muffler?

I have a flowmaster catback and want something quiet and that flows more. So I just want to replace the muffler only

I have heard about the SLP/ dual/dual but the damn muffler alone cost almost $300!!!

so I was wondering what else is out there? I have heard about hooker and magnaflow but not sure if there what I am looking for.

You basically just said that you want a Magnaflow muffler...good choice!! I picked mine up at Hottexhaust.com for 100 bucks.

Both the Hooker and Magnaflow will provide what you want.

hooker is the best bang for the buck. i went from flowmaster cat back to hooker and picked up 3 tenths. much quieter and when you get on it it sound like it is screaming.

i've switched my muffler a few times, just can't decide what i want. i've gone from hooker with stock cats and manifolds, to hooker with off road y pipe and stock manifolds (it sounded Great!) then switched to a slp loudmouth without cats, sounded crappy, then it was loudmouth with highflow cats, just not my taste tone wise, then went to a delta 40 series truck style muffler with side exits, its sounds really good but for some reason i cannot stand the fake sound from a flowmaster...so now i've gone back to the hooker catback with highflow cats and i love it. At idle is quiet, a little more tone than stock, then at WOT it sounds mean as hell. Now im adding Pacesetter lt's this weekend and a custom off road y pipe. go to www.ls1sounds.com, chilipepper made a great site with all sorts of sounds you can hear. its a sticky at the top of the external engine forum. just browse through.

i've heard magnaflow as well it sounds great as well, both hooker and magnaflow will be a great choice especially on a budget.
