Default any one have a water pump fail?

im not talking about them leaking. but them just stop pumping water. it would over hear all the time right? or if some of the fins broke off it may flow enough at say idle but when its reving it can meet the demand.

did you check your thermostat? I've never heard of impellers falling off.

Me either, sounds like whatever problem you are having you are over-thinking it.

Impellers can break. I have never seen it on LS motors but have replaced more than one pump with missing blades.

More than likely not the problem the OP is having

Well its in a mustang and the radiator that's in it I belive is for a mustang, it calls for a 10331 rad cap, but with that cap when I squeeze a hose coolant get pushed out in to the overflow bottle. Also noticed with that cap when I rev it the lower hose starts to get sucked shut. Took a cap off a friends car and when I squeeze the hose it acts like it should. Put my cap on his car and squeez and it would push coolant in to his over flow too. But I installed a air deflector on the bottom to scoop air up in to the rad and with his cap I didn't have issues with it getting too warm.
