Default GMMG cam only through manifolds, debating headers...

Would the quality of the sound /loudness be obnoxious if I was to add headers through a catted y pipe with GMMG?

Right now I like the way how it sounds with the cam through manifolds.

Keep in mind that this is my daily driver, and I've heard GMMG through straight headers/pipes and it was just way too loud.

Wondering if with the cats it would be bareable???

Thoughts?

I think it will sound great with headers and a catted y; and you should enjoy the bump in hp too with that cam.

If it is too loud, a small magnaflow bullet can be thrown in the intermediate pipe to help quiet things down a bit.

Don't know what LS1powrd was saying. But I don't think its that bad. I have a MS3 with trick flow 220s ARH1 7/8 ORY into a GMMG. Yes drone is bad but I am putting dynomat all over in my car. There are many other ways to tame the sound down but I like it loud. If concerned get the catted Y. High flow cats don't take away that much HP anyway.

I agree it shouldnt be terrible with the catted Y. With no cats it would probably be pretty bad.

def. buy some HF cats if you get headers. if that is still too loud for you buy a powerstick (basically same chambered muffler as gmmg) and weld it in the I-pipe
