Why is there a hole in the side of my slp lid that comes with a plastic piece to fill the hole? I'm baffled!!! Lol

It's been several years since I installed mine, but I think the 00-02 would use that hole for the AIR. Looks like you have a 99 which would have a different AIR setup and you just need to use the plastic piece to plug the hole. So basically they made one lid that would work for both the 98-99 and 00-02 setups.

You are correct. My lid had the same thing and I have a 98, which does not need that hole. I just plugged the hole and went on with my business.

It makes sense but why have two different "models"? Could just make a slp lid for 98-02 and throw the plug in the package and call it a day... Some companies make it difficult huh... Lol
