Question 02 sims question????

I put hooker long tubes on my car. I bought two sims and installed them to the two sensors on both sides of the tranny. Are they in the right place or should they be back farther or to the ones on the front. My SES light comes on for a few days and then goes off. Is there something wrong with the way it is running? I have heard about having the rear sensors deleted but I have those sims and isn't that what they are for? Thanks for your help---JORDAN

Leave the old sensors in the back and unplug them. Plug the sims into the plugs that went to the old ones. Then tie the sims and the wires out of the way.

If the simms weren't working, or weren't installed properly, you would get a cat inefficiency code which would probably set off your SES light all the time, not periodically as you are describing. The only way you'll find out for sure is to have it scanned and see what code it's setting off.

We put some in my friends and the light didnt go off either...Thought the sims were bad but ended up being one of the front o2's were bad. Go get it checked you might be throwing another code to set the light off.

You could use the old one you dont have plugged in and try them in the front. But i will tell you if the front ones are bad it will run like crap

The simms only get attached to the rear(driver/passenger) set of sensor harnesses. I had the ses light for 40 miles when first swapping headers in. I dis-connected the battery for 30-40 minutes to re-set the pcm and the light never came back. Mine was a steady light though. Your intermittent light might not even be related directly to the simms. The only way to be sure of what it is would be scanning the DTC.
