I always worried about misfire at that gap but it's a bigger spark

ACDelco Rapidfire's @ .040, I wanted to run the tr55's since everyone on this site has them and swears by them, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $8 per plug (that's what our store was asking for them) for spark plugs that are going in a car with no heavy mods, just your typical lid and catback. I've put about 1,000 miles on them and they're still doing their job.

NGK TR-55. I think I gapped them at .050-.055. Make sure you check the gaps on whatever you buy because mine were all kinda off out of the box.

Wasn't there some thread or something from GM talking about the .060 gap being to large? Larger the gap bigger the spark, but its not as consistent as a smaller gap??? hell, idk I read it somewhere.

That's not the recommended gap anymore. GM issued a bulletin to cover this. I believe they changed it to .035. I have run TR55s at 60, 55, and 50 with no issues. I am currently running TR5s at 45 or so.

NGK recommends for power increases, gap should be reduced .05 per 50hp over stock. Food for thought.
