Default Which oil pressure switch?

I have a 98 Camaro SS that is in the process of getting an 01 engine.
The one off the 98 engine got broken and the 01 didn't come with one.
I checked and it listed different part numbers for the 98 and 01.
Is there a difference or did the old one just get superseded by the newer?
Or is a matter of the wire harness plug and or the depth or design of the newer version.
My thinking is that I would get one for the 98 since that is the harness I have.

98 is a 3 wire & 01 is a 2 wire switch. If you are using a 98 harness & PCM, you will need the 98 switch. Remember, very little or no sealer. Too much & you'll lose the ground between the head & the switch.

Miss-read it. Thought it said engine temp switch, when it says oil pressure switch.
