Default looking for an exhaust

i'm looking to put a catback on my 99 trans am, dont want something too loud at cruising speed as it is my daily driver but still want a good sound. wouldn't mind something used if in good condition and the price is right? Anybody selling anything or any recommendations?

Hooker AeroChamber CB or Magnaflow CB is probably your best bet. Check the parts for sale section, there's usually someone selling either or. Also both of those CB's sound better with LT's and ORY.

Magnaflow sounds like crap. Try Hooker, Flowmaster, or a Jegs catback.

On LS1 sounds, I think the stock headers/y pipe sounds good with Magnaflow. Not as good as the stock h/y with GMMG mind you, but you're also paying like half the price. I hate the SLP stuff personally, would either get Magnaflow or save up for Hooker/GMMG.

Magnaflow also sounds great cammed, imo.

I've been DD'ing my SLP Loudmouth 2 ever summer for last 4 years. Well worth it IMO with Stock manifold and cats.
My Brother has Magnaflow on his 02 its all right with stock manifolds and cats, Sounds better with LT & Catted ypipe

i have a hooker cat back(and some shorties with stock y pipe) and love the sound. It's tame at idle, and loud enough at WOT for just a cat back, but once you get a cat back you will want headers, o/r y to go along with it, even if it is your DD. Good luck

Because I have one and I hate the way it sounds. I can't for the life of me figure out why everyone says it sounds good. Mine is LTs, Custom Y with a flowmaster merge, into the Magnaflow

yeah, i was gonna say TSP rumbler, i'm about to get it, however the magnaflow isn't bad either, i put one on my buddies 00 Z28 and i like the sound, i guess my ears might be different then others, wait, yeah, they are haha, funny how that works, but yeah, i like the sound, again, they aren't "droning" loud, but when you kick it, it's there
