Default Replace Corsa muffler?

Well, long story short, finally after 7 years of having the Corsa cat back, I got pulled over for being too loud and 13 mph over. But of course he said the loud exhaust is what drew his attention... Seems to have gotten louder with the extra 60 cubes. Looking at the replacing just the muffler. Measured the case and it's 17 long before the inlets/outlets are accounted for. Been looking at the Dynomax 17536, but not sure how much dinking around I will have to do since the Dynomax is 3 inches longer case-wise. Has anyone swapped this out before and if so, let me know what you did to make it work. Thanks, Jess

As long as the inlet and outs are about the same distance apart(front to back) on both mufflers most likely all you need to do is shorten the driverside tail pipe where it goes on to the muffler.

Have no idea how far apart the inlets and outlets are apart on the Dynomax, but if anyone has one laying around or on their car could you measure them for me? Would greatly appreciate it...

I don't how much front to back adjustment you have with the Corsa exhaust tips, but as long as there's not a major difference you should be fine.

The bad thing is that I don't want to spend the money and have to either try and take it back or do too much dinking around to make it fit or worse case scenario, if it doesn't work then have to lose money trying to sell it....

Have you considered installing some High-flow cat on the Y-pipe, or just buying a new cat-back and selling your Corsa?

Thought about adding cats, but have heard some clips with the Corsa and didnt think it quieted it down much at all. I like my Corsa, just not the attention from the boys in blue that it draws...

Broke down and bought a Dynomax Ultra-Flow 17536 for a whopping $27.49 with free shipping even! So, we will see if this tones it down enough and if not, will have to throw some cats in the Y...

Found one on amazon for $67 and if you applied for their credit card, they gave you a $40 gift card off purchase. Still haven't got it on because lovely winter temps got here before I had the chance, so as soon as it warms up here, I will be heading out to the garage and see what it sounds like...

well if that doesn't work for you and you wanna keep the corsa sound.. you can deepin it up and quiten it down a little bit with a 24" dynomax bullet muffler somewhere in the mid-pipe. P.S. in 2 years that dynomax will be louder. I've had their ultra-flo stainless steel line on 3 different cars, there's always a noticeable difference after a year or two lol. or get you a single in single out ultra-flo and have it welded in the mid-pipe. that will REALLY quiet things down O_O
