Default 241 or 243

Gonna be doing a head swap sometime in the near future nothing to big just gonna get a set of gm heads. I have a 99 camaro ss full bolt on looking at either 241 or 243 heads just wanted to get some pros and cons. Thanks morgan

241 will be basically the same as what you have on your 99, not worth changing.

Honestly I wouldn't even put on 243 unless they were at least mildly ported.

If your low on cash,find a used set of AFR 205 heads. The quality and performance of them is out standing. You will make a better gain.

Your 99 should have 853 heads. These can be ported by AI just like the 241 heads and get you a good gain in power for minimal cost.

241 is basically the same head you have port wise. 243 will make more power stock but ported all 3 are very close.

If your going to go through the trouble of swapping cylinder heads I would recommend making it worth your wild. Send the heads out for cnc work, valve job, and milling if your ptv clearance allows for it. This will net you some very nice results and be well worth the time and money invested.

And so will a set of AFR heads. Ran close to 10's na in a 3,700lbs car,m6 and a 26 in cheeter slick. Heat,leather,power everything full interior.
