Default LS2/LS3/L92 water pumps

Years ago a shop replaced my original LS1 water pump with the LS2 pump & t-stat setup because it had become the replacement part. Last year the accessories were moved to the new LS3 block.

My radiator has a slow leak and I'm considering buying new hoses & pump just to refresh it all at the same time. I see there's both a L92 & LS3 pump and have read that at least one revision of the LS3 pump offers a mild performance gain due to a redesign.

Which pump(s) will correctly fit the LS3 block in a 98 Z28?

The 2010 Camaro LS3 pump is the improved design and will fit fine.

I dont believe the LS3 pump will fit. They stick out farther like the trucks do. Maybe correct me if im wrong.

the LS6 pump from a 06 GTO is a LS2 2 piece thermo design....and fits f bods.....but if you go to your fav auto store.........they give you a LS1 1 piece thermo pump for that application

You need to read OPs original question!

LS3 block....it's not about the body the engines in or the engine the car came with originally

^^^ i believe all LSx WPs will interchange and physically fit.......the difference is the inlets and outlets and pulley bell housing for the various body styles.....does that satisfy you??

If you're asking me,that's only part of the answer - because it depends on the inlets/outlets & pulley bellhousing. I would prefer the improved LS3 design but I prefer not to significantly mess with replacing or tweaking other parts to make it work. Else the most recent design which meets those requirements is what I'll go with.
