Default What Sensor is this? Sits on Intake for a LM7

I've been searching and searching and cant seem to find out what sensor this is?

I'm wiring up a Megasquirt 3 on 05+ LM7. I need to know what this sensor is / does.

See picture.

Also I don't want to run the MAF cause I don't need it but I need IAT (intake air temp) which is integrated into my MAF what is my best option on how to run a single IAT without using the MAF with integrated IAT.

Thanks in advance!

that is your purge valve/solenoid.

For the IAT, drill a hole in the air intake tubing, install grommet, place IAT sensor in grommet, and then wire it up. Ballenger Motorsports or Caspers Electronics are good sources for connectors like an IAT pigtail. They might even make a terminated adapter-type connector.

Okay cool looks like I can remove it, from what I just searched its only used for EVAP (burn vapors from the gas tank). Correct me if i'm wrong.

Where's the best place to find an IAT sensor?

Since I'm not using the MAP sensor (megasquirt has one built in on unit) I'm thinking i will just install the IAT in the whole left open by removing the MAP.

EVAP purge control solenoid functions to release vapors from gas tank at select times. An emissions code will be reported if the solenoid doesn't function when commanded.

Edit: probably not an issue with a stand-alone.

Rockauto for the IAT, althought the Megasquirt probably expects a sensor with a specific resistance curve. Either way, it should be pretty cheap. The LS1 IAT was like $13 shipped.

GM IATs havent changed resistance since they first implemented EFI

Just a suggestion, but Id leave the MAF on to atleast set a base tune. Unplug it later if you want it gone

FYI, you have to have either MAF or MAP. Cant delete both
