Default Need Headers and other exhaust help!!

Well, since TSP's headers are on back order, I need to figure out which headers to buy. I can't wait until January otherwise TSP's would be my choice...

I'm just not sure what to get for my setup. I was gonna go with TSP's cause they're cheaper than any other 1-7/8 headers. I'm not sure that I'll need headers that size for my setup, but I was gonna get them to have room to grow. I'm gonna list my setup below. I need some header suggestions.

-LQ4 Short Block
-PRC LS6 Stg 2.5 64cc
-TSP 233/239 on 112LSA
-FAST 102/92
-44lb Injectors
-SLP Lid
-Performabuilt Lv2
-Yank SS4000
-Moser 9" w/3.73s

Would 1-3/4 be large enough for this setup? I'm trying to get into the mid/low 11s with my car. I want to get as much as I can out of it.

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Derek

EDIT**

I also wanted to ask about some exhaust suggestions... I was thinking about running the TSP true duals, but I want to be able to lower the car too. I've been looking at the Mufflex Y-pipe and I'm thinking about getting it. It has the Flowmaster merge with a 4" outlet. I was thinking of getting that and running a cutout, then running a 50 series Flowmaster in the stock muffler location. I want it to be fairly mellow on the street, but have the cutout there for when I want it to be stupid loud.

I have some ARH 1-7/8's waiting to be installed. They're expensive but all of the feedback on their products is excellent

I wouldnt go with anything less than a 1 7/8s on, your setup. Most of your time will be above 4k when you race with that stall, and thats where the gains are. You wont lose any down low either

After spending three (3) days getting a set of TSPs in a car...then less than 20 minutes getting a set of ARs out of another car... I know which brand I'll be purchasing

Ya I would go with the 1 7/8. I put 1 3/4 in mine and they went in perfect.

01ssreda4- I was just looking at those. Did you have any install problems with them?

So what is the tipping point for when the 1 7/8ths are more valuable than the 1 3/4 LTs?

I am running almost the same set up you are I have 13/4 headers and they work fine but if you can afford the extra I would go with the 17/8 headers if I have to pull by headers for any reason that's what ill replace mine with there is a few hp to be gained by doing so you should have no problem reaching low 11s I have a lq4 same cam with stock 243 heads and have been 11.59 in a stick car with a crappy 60ft you have better heads and a auto so I think you could do 11.2 easy if not break in the high 10s

dodson55- That's kinda crazy.. haha. We have an almost identical setup. How do you like the cam? Do you DD the car? What was your race weight? Sorry for all the questions... lol.

The plan, so far, is to go with 1-7/8 Hooker Headers. Gonna go ahead and get the stainless ones. Any suggestions on exhaust?

I love the cam I dd my car about 250 miles a week and it does just fine with a good tune it has a little cam surge below about 1300 but its noting you can't live with if my motor blew today my next one would have the same cam back in it, on exhaust if u can live with the extra noise go with true 3in duals and dynomax bullet mufflers I love the sound of mine and it picked up good power over a y pipe set up

Here's kinda what I've come up with for exhaust... I'm gonna get the stainless Hooker Headers, the Mufflex y-pipe, 4" cutout, necked down to 3" into my Flowmaster cat-back that came on the car when I bought it. I like the way the Flowmaster sounds, so I'll keep it on there for daily driving.

That setup sound ok?

sounds like a winner to me except i dont like the flowmaster sound lol but you get the best of both worlds the power and noise with the 4in y and cutout and you get the quiet inside with the cat back it sounds like a win win to me actually its almost identical to what my next setup will be

I think it'll sound pretty good. My other Camaro sounded good with factory manifolds, gutted cats, and a Flowmaster cat-back. This was on a stock LS1 though, not a H/C/I 6.0.

I guess there's only one way to find out. I'm still open to suggestions though.

Wait, your worried about 1 3/4 headers holding you back then your going to go and keep the flow master cat back?. I understand you have a cut out in mind but I would stick with your initial idea of the different flowmaster muffler. Any reason you can't use the mufflex 4 inch cat back as well?

The car is my DD. I shouldn't have any need for a full 4" exhuast. The 3" cat-back should flow plenty on the street without being stupid loud, and I'll have the 4" cutout if I need the extra power/sound. The cutout is primarily for when I take it to the track.

I may upgrade the cat-back at some point, but I already have the Flowmaster one on the car. It's not very old, so I'm just gonna use it for now I think. Just depends on how much it would cost for the 50-series and for the shop to install it...
