Another EGR removal question

Ok, I have read tons of posts regarding removing the egr. But, Im wanting to make sure it is safe to remove it without getting a tune for a bit. I have heard yes its no problem, and don't do it I blew a motor without a tune yada yada. Anyone have the definitive answer? 98' trans am, A4, stock intake, exhaust, no motor mods yet besides the freebies. Soon I will be installing LT's, ORY, and catback just to give some ideas. Thanks for any tips.

Well, I am going on 2 months without a tune after installing lt's, catback, lid and removin air and egr and nothing wrong so far. Gonna be getting a tune within a month though.

Your SES light will be on and you can't pass inspection with the light on. Other than that no problem.

Ok thanks for the replies. I have already removed the air system and inspections is not a problem here in tx since I don't live in an emmissions county and it helps that I'm a licensed inspector with friends in that area lol

No egr for 3 months and everything seems fine.

I did ls6 Intake swap, I would like to tune out egr so ses light will turn off. Will something like the diablo predator tuner do this?
